I hope your knee gets better soon, I put ice on mine when it hurts me and it seems to help.

I’m glad you are deciding to rest it. Even if it doesn’t fix the issue, you will then know it’s possibly time to look at other problems. I really hope it just starts feeling better after a few days rest.

I'm so sorry you are hurting! Take it easy and listen to Dr. 💜🩷💜🩷

Yeah, ice really does help more than you think it might. Of course, now the medical professionals are babbling about when one uses ice versus when one uses heat.

take care of your knees. after you heal maybe consider a cheap stationary bike from Amazon. you can get better range of motion without all the stress of the weight. I have 2 trashed knees from sports and military. only about $150. it's sturdy and a good investment. spend the extra $20 for a gel seat cover or your ass will hurt more than the knees. good luck mate.

Thanks Mkinternationl, Morticia, Buenita, Lucy, Moko, Diana, Bottom Line, Bigguido, Sfimpala. I am doing what the doctor said and resting the knee as much as possible. I'm using ice and heat, but usually neither. Keeping the knee elevated and taking ibuprofen. Maybe I'll watch a couple seasons of Friends today. I found the DVDs in a box packed up for moving. Maybe I'll watch Seinfeld and Frasier too. Since the doctor took the time to see me and give me advice, I need to try this for at least 2 or 3 days. Bigguido, I've had stationary bikes in the past and never want another one! I used it so much, too much, so no interest in that anymore. I need to be able to walk and eventually hike again. I'm thinking I could have twisted the knee or something while sleeping last Sunday night. It was a cold night and my dog was stretched on along the foot of the bed with one of my cats. Neither would budge. The other 2 cats were pressed up against me. I couldn't get comfortable or stretch out. Sometimes I sleep like a contortionist when the pets all want on the heated blanket. I remember thinking in my sleep that I should go sleep in the guest room but it was too much effort.

I messed up my knee a while back from doing a combo of running/walking and it’s been months and it has never fully recovered. When I know I’m going to be in the office and taking walks during my break and lunch I always make sure to wear a copper pull on brace over my knee and it really helps to alleviate pain and allows me to walk without feeling uncomfortable/pain.

Fritzy, Not sure if this would help, but since it helped me so much with my knee pain, I would try bubs Collagen. Navy Seals developed it and it has helped me so much. It helps my husband too. Hope you are better soon 🙏💜

Thanks Sterfan. If the knee doesn't improve in a few days I may get a brace. My sister also suggested it. At this time I'm still in denial and can't believe I actually hurt my knee.

Thank rcguenth. I don't take collagen. I don't like what it is. Hope the rest and then short, slow walks will be okay

Fritzy, look up Cho-pat on Amazon and try something that looks like it. It’s not a full brace, but it stabilizes the knee without being a full brace (hot) so you’re more likely to wear it. The name brand one is a little spendy, but I prefer it, that said, there are other similar things that are less than half.

Thanks Foody, the rest seems to help. I did better yesterday but have been up slot more today just going back and forth between room.

Thanks Katsolo, there are so many choices! I just use an ace bandage right now. When I go back to the doctor I'll ask about a brace. I'm just hoping it won't be necessary. I've never had knee problems before. A few years ago I had bad pain my my lower back. Xrays showed nothing but arthritis. I spent 2 weeks on the couch with ice and eating pads and it healed. No problems since.
I'm kind of hoping this is a similar situation.
