I'm just starting again. It always gets hardest before the breakthrough. Hope you stick to it.

Do the simple things. Get rid of anything you're eating that could be considered junk. For now, include potatoes and bread. I know how frustrating it can be, but the rewards are worth it. When did you start?

Don't quit, it is so easy to throw up your hand and say forget it, but staying with it wont be easy, but it is the right thing to do.

By the way, my weight can bounce about 4 pounds over the course of the week. Don't expect a loss daily. You have to look at it over time.

Words of the Week: "I will never, never, never give up. I will be a pillar of bad-ass calm!"

you have to start somewhere- why not today. only weight at he same time on the new scale and start your starting point from today. it might just be the new scale, you can master this. don't let the stupid scale win the battle.

If it's a new scale I wouldn't freak out. Just use what it says as your starting point and go from there. I just accomplished my goals I started with 2.5 months ago, all it took was daily walks and for me, I focused on making sure I had a lot of protein in my diet at each meal, which seemed to result in fewer overall calories eaten. Between the two I was able to knock things off pretty efficiently. I weighed 2x / wk and saw pounds going away so it was a good motivation.

If it's the numbers on the new scale ignor them and go back to your old scale either way it's just numbers. Hang in there and do this for your health and not numbers.

I hate to tell you, but you're right... Diets don't work! You need to make lifestyle changes. Don't stress out about a number, the numbers will come when you get your healthy lifestyle working for you; and what works for you, may not be what works for someone else. There are dozens (if not hundreds) of "diets" out there. I'm building my own lifestyle out of a combo of low carb, and Paleo (mostly just avoiding processed foods). I have been at this weight battle all my life, and it was only about 6 months ago I figured it out (I think). Quit fighting the weight and attack the cause, an unhealthy lifestyle. If you get a healthy lifestyle established, the weight will come off. Just what ever you do, please don't give up, it's worth it.... You're worth it! Good luck, and take care. G

Baby steps. Make better choices daily and eliminate processed food. You may not have quick weight loss, but you will be learning life time healthy habits. Women's weight fluctuates a lot. It could be fluid weight gain. Even if you only lose a pound a week, you'll be 52 pounds down in a year. Keep on keepin' on. Anything worth having is worth working for.

Thank you for all the comments and support, I think I'm going to see a nutritionist and try that way. I know I've gotta do this and really I'm not a quitter I just get frustrated and discouraged.

I'm sad to read that you were so upset. I agree with everything everyone has already said. Don't give up on yourself. You are worth fighting for. I think it's a good idea to see a nutritionist to have them evaluate your life plan. They can do some proper measurements for you and make sure your eating plan works for your body type. I understand your frustration about gaining weight when you have made this commitment to yourself to change things. There are a number of reasons for this and I will admit the same happened to me early in my programme. I just didn't post those results! Here is an article I found to help me make sense of things. I hope it helps you stay the course. http://www.ontheregimen.com/2014/02/09/what-those-scale-weight-fluctuations-really-mean/ Please keep at it and good on your for reaching out!

Please stick around. We'd like to help any way we can - even if it's just to act as sounding boards. We all need to just rant sometimes and be reminded others have had the same problem.

Sorry to hear you're ready to give up. I went a similar way about 3 years ago. I was about 245 at the time and in pretty good shape from working out. I decided I wanted to get to 220. I tried for several months of being hungry constantly and was actually gaining weight. I got up to 250, got stressed out and started eating poorly. I was literally eating everything in sight. Over the next year and a half my weight got up to over 330. My health was terrible, high blood pressure, high triglycerides and diagnosed with diabetes. I decided I needed to get healthy and made lifestyle changes. I don't call it a diet as it's bigger than that. My weight doesn't always go down. Some weeks it just bounces around jumping as much as 6 lbs in a day. I just keep to my way of eating and make sure I track everything I eat. It sometimes is a slow process but well worth it in the end. Please reconsider and we will help you in any way we can.

Always put your scale on the same place. I put my scale in a different room last week and I weighed more than my starting weight. I was shocked and decided to give up. I put my scale in the correct place and I had lost a lot of weight. So please keep that in mind. On the doctor's scale I weigh less than I do at home. So I don't trust scales and I use the one I have home for a constant weigh in. Please don't give up. I lost 200gr in 2 days and I am disappointed. I was expecting a 3kg like last week. So I understand how you feel.
