Unofficial weigh in at 191 lbs after breakfast this morning! We'll see if that holds through Mondays "official" weigh in.
On the Heart front, I went to the cardiologist today. At my last appointment in May he said he wanted me to lose 10 lbs before October. On May 25th I weighed 200 lbs and I started my current 14 week "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" Challenge. With last Monday's weigh-in, I had calculated that I had lost 6.3 lbs of FAT and gained 1.3 lbs of muscle, for a total scale loss of 5 lbs. But based on the doctor's reaction upon seeing me, I can only assume my body fat calcs are off. He was pretty animated about the dramatic change in my physical appearance! It wasn't "have you lost a couple of lbs?".... It was more like, "You are a healthy beast! What have you been doing!?" (his words, not mine). Combine that with my blood work and he ended by saying, "You are the healthiest patient I have seen all week!".
Blood work recap: Prior to this journey that really began Jan 9, 2014, my cholesterol had been over 300 for almost 20 years and I took no meds (thus my bypasses). After 9 months of clean eating and increasing exercise, Lipid panel numbers all moved dramatically in the right direction. With the fall of my mother in law and the ensuing 4 months of 24 hour care, and subsequent poor eating, those numbers started to turn for the worst, as you will see below in my blood work right after surgery in April. And finally, with very clean eating post surgery AND the addition of Lipitor, total cholesterol took a huge drop, as did LDL, but liver enzymes are elevated almost 4 times, so doctor is taking me off that for 2 weeks to see where I end up. Here are the numbers for comparison so you can see "YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT!"
9/14/2014 4/15/2015 8/12/2015 Cholesterol 237 214 143 LDL 157 139 66 HDL 57 46 65 Triglycerides 113 144 59 SGOT (liver) 23 30 109
