Seven hours of solid sleep with no wide-awake episodes, one hour drowsing while listening to podcasts.
Morning plank. Ten minutes on the Air Walk Trainer first thing in the morning to burn off glycogen. A high of only 77. I can live with that.
Today is a down day on the Alternate-Day Diet (500 calories).
Two hours of posture, neck, trunk, and flexibility exercises from "Age-Defying Fitness."
Cardio: 60 minutes on the Sunny Air Walk Trainer. 275 steps.
I'm getting habituated to doing exercises for posture, neck, trunk, and flexibility from "Age-Defying Fitness" every day. I think I will make more progress by staying with one group of exercises than by scattering my efforts around.
Found a source of whey protein without any added ingredients. I'm trying to get rid of artificial sweeteners in my diet after
a study shows they mess with your gut bacteria, but just discovered that the huge container of psyllium I take for fiber has aspartame. "The Alternate-Day Diet" recommends using diet shakes such as Slim-Fast during the induction phase, but once I get rid of my supply of Slim-Fast, I'm not going to replace it because it contains artificial sweeteners. "The Alternate-Day Diet" has recipes for down days (500 calories) I will phase in as I phase out the diet shakes.
Quality measuring spoons arrived. I've been using cheap ones which get dented, bent out of shape, and grotty. I hope to eventually shift from no-stick cookware to cast iron and other alternatives.
