Weigh in day! I won my fiance and I's competition again :) He said he would be happy to see me win every week cause that meant I was reaching my goals! Reminder: he is trying to gain weight, I am trying to lose weight. Rewards: loser has kitchen duties for the week and whoever wins gets to pick the movie for movie night. And because I am trying to eat healthy food, no alcohol, no junk, no salty food... as a reward each time I get to 10lb weight loss I get a free meal of my choice. one meal- anything I want. sooooo I hit my 10lb wt loss and tonight we are having CHINESE FOOD :) and a glass of wine... it took 5 weeks. it is a huge motivator I tell you to get to the 10lb goal.
11 days ago our hot water tank broke. we decided to buy a new one instead of renting... but the catch was we had to get the one we wanted ORDERED! soooo, we have not had hot water at home. no dishwasher, have to boil water to do dishes, and no showers. I've been showering at the gym, which hasn't been too bad. I went to the gym 5 times in the past week and did weights (circuit), swimming, cardio machines, yoga/pilates class.. we should have hot water within the next few days! cannot wait.
I refuse to say that I "might" actually get to my goal. Instead I say that I "will" get there. I really do love healthy food. I find my mood in general is better when I eat lots of fruit and veggies and whole grains. I am trying to cut out processed food. I have been eating a ton more spicy food too. I love knowing I am getting a meal full of vitamins, fibre, antioxidants etc... food that will keep me going for a while.. cutting out all soda makes me feel less bloated as well. I am a diet coke addict, so giving it up has been hard, but I do feel better. now I just drink water or green tea during the day (in the morning I have one or two cups of coffee).
We are going to plant a garden in our yard this spring. (if spring decides to come- it is SNOWING outside!!!) I have started pepper and tomato plants indoors... I am going to plant a ton of veg and herbs and then learn how to preserve and can and make my own pasta sauce, salsa, jams, etc...
ok, so 30-35lbs more by August 14th. Easy. ok, HARD but I am trying to trick myself into thinking it will be easy. The power of positive thinking. If you think you can, you can. there are a ton of classes I want to join at the gym that are included in the cost of the membership- they have one with weights, a dance aerobics, body combat which is martial arts... so if I start to plateau I will force myself to step it up excercise wise. I cannot believe I even like the gym. but I do love it so much!!
I find this cold snowy weather depressing. It makes me want to hibernate. Why did I move to the "near north" again? Oh yes, for love.
