Happy Monday!!!
--Yesterday's 8 mile breakdown--
Miles 1 - 2: I walked at a 3.85 MPH avg speed (getting my joints loosened up)
Miles 3 - 7: Who am I kidding, I hate steady state walking. I started intervals around the 42 minute mark - Jog / walk, Jog / walk.
Mile 8: Ouch, Ouch, Ouch. Knees, hips, right shoulder (Pain level between 6 - 8), Back to a steady state walk.
I was in zone 3 for 20 minutes and zone 4 for 43 minutes. I would have preferred those numbers to be swapped, however:
1) the constant elevation gains and losses in this path I chose (375 ft gain 375 ft loss)
2) my current fitness level
3) and my current heavy weight
were contributors to those numbers.
It's all good. I will get lighter not so much from exercising more, rather from: 1st controlling what I put on the fork,
2nd how many fork loads during that meal
3rd how long until the next meal
My only meal so far today was at 10:42 am: 3 boiled eggs, 3 sausage links and 1/2 of a small avocado. This meal was after a quick 19 minute walk.
It's now 2:51 PM. T-69 minutes before I knock out another 8 miler but my quads are sore. Bored or not, I need to only do steady state walking later*
Onward
PS
I am at 11,055 steps so far. Let's see what an additional 8 miles brings my step count up to. Hills -- I am coming for you!!!
