skwhite's Journal, 01 September 2017

I forgot to log on yesterday. But in all honesty it is a little crazy here. If you are a praying person we could use some prayer, we have at last check, over 5000 acre fire, homes of 3 people I know are gone. The air is so thick it feels like you could eat it. The visibility from the smoke is very poor. So I did my walking inside yesterday. I moved up from 3 pound weights to 5 pound weights.

Be safe everyone!

Bless you and your family and friends . Protect yourself and your lungs. A number of years ago we were evacuated due to wild fires. The was scary and exciting . My daughter was a single mother with five kids and no money. She found a motel about 20 miles from home who was putting up fire victims for free. We already had reservations in Fresno as we were headed there for a convention. Unfortunately we needed to leave our animals, three large dogs and a pig. We put out a baby pool full of water and left the toilet seats up. (Dogs DomPerignon). Snice the dogs were used to having dry dog food out at all times, we just left 50 lbs of food out for them. It was a tense weekend worrying about them but everyone survived to bark about it. We say prayers for you and yours.

Where are you at skwhite? Sorry I can't remember if you have already posted that. Sure wish we could have some of that Harvey flood water up here in MT. Almost 700,000 acres burned so far, those in the know say it will hit 1,000,000 before snow puts them out. I can't hardly fathom. Sure gives breathing fresh air a new meaning. Praying for you and yours, Rebecca

@Becca P I am in far Northern California. (I say that because San Fran thinks they are Northern Cali and we are 5 hours North of them). We need rain so badly!

I hope your fire situation is better. We do need rain. There are a couple fires burning in Oregon as well. One in the Columbia Gorge is sending smoke and ash my way. I hope you are safe.

I am doing okay, my asthma not so much. The wind blew yesterday and got enough smoke out that they were able to get some air support. The fire grew over night but still within containment. So fat 72 homes lost and 61 outbuildings. Shocking! We are expecting thunderstorms, so we are praying for rain and no lightning! Thanks for checking in with me!
