Diet friendly barbeque style chicken breasts.
Ingredients
Directions
- Mix ketchup and diet cola (like diet Coke) in a medium bowl.
- Arrange 4 chicken breasts in a large skillet, pour ketchup and cola mixture over the top. Ensure that mixture covers chicken on all sides.
- Turn burner to medium heat and cook for 30 minutes, covered, stirring and scraping occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Remove lid and cook an additional 10-15 minutes until chicken is done and sauce sticks to chicken.

I haven't made this, but I thought aspartame was not supposed to be heated, cooked, etc.

I make this pretty often. I like to add a little diced onion and garlic powder to the sauce, helps to tame the sweetness which not everyone loves in a bbq sauce (I personally like it either way). I also like to shred the chicken in the sauce and make bbq chicken sandwiches!

I love cola chicken even when I'm not dieting. I am a huge fan of "diet" food with big flavor. I was really suprised at how good it was the first time you made it for me.

I love this and my family has requested it often. I will say I use Diet Rootbeer and found it to be the best of the diet colas... Great for a quickie dinner when you can't think of something else to make
