Hey everybody my name is Vince and i'm a 31 year old living in the Philly area. I was married in April 2011 and for my wedding I made the decision to finally get a hold of my life/weight so I can be healthy after I marry the women i've been with for the past 11 years. I was very successful and lost ~100 lbs for that effort but in recent years i've had the unexpected setback and have gained back a good bit of weight. So the new challenge is on. I'm expecting my first child in May and I want them to know i'm going to be around for them and to show healthy habits so i'm back at it. This time there will be no stopping until I get to my goal's that i'm setting.

I've seen other people list rewards for goals so I think if I get to my goal weight i'm going to go sky diving. The last time I thought about doing it I was too heavy based on the info on the company's website (I know sad). Anyways good luck to everyone and hopefully we'll get there together and thanks for any motivation going forward.

I would think Friday would make more sense as that would match your exercise diary.

I don't understand...
Same here I was pissed last Monday when I saw I was back over 190 (4 pounds gain in a week) but I quickly realized it was from all the salt I had at the super bowl party and I was just retaining water. A week later and I'm down almost 3 pounds from the weight 2 weeks ago. The water retention thing is crazy.

500 calorie deficit?
I use the calculator and subtract 500 calories as well to get to a 1000 calorie a day deficit or two pounds a week. This is a good goal to set because anything more lost is tough to sustain and in certain instances can be unhealthy like others are saying. If you find yourself cutting to many calories you're body will go into starvation mode and start eating good things like muscle which are heavier but are good for your body and burn more calories than fat.

Just my two cents.

Some info about Diet Soda.
I always here the things about diet soda but I can't lie I drink a 2 liter a day. I don't drink coffee or any other calories and I haven't seen any of the increased hunger that people discuss.
