Goal Weight
130.0 lb
Still to go: 8.0 lb
Hi
I'm 5'8" tall, 33yrs old. I work for an oilfield company that constantly has vendors bringing us food. It is extremely hard to not gain weight with the temptation of food and spending an average of 9hrs a day in front of a computer. I weighed 125lbs when I started working for this company years ago. I am a little older, and I think that 130lbs is a more realistic weight now. I'm fairly tall, and think that this is still a good weight for my height. I enjoy gardening, decorating, reading, needlework. LOVE animals and flowers! Water lily pic is from my pond that is in bloom right now. Anxious to reach my goal weight and know that I can do it with Atkins.

Lady dieters
Question for you lady dieters out there. Have any of you ever experienced any "breakthrough bleeding" while doing Atkins? I know that significant changes in exercise can affect you this way, but what about diet?

Stuck on Atkins- L-Carnitine
I actually started Atkins on June 12th. I didnt lose a single pound during those 14 days. I was very discouraged. I thought I had followed the diet very well, never cheated. By the end of the 4th week (still doing induction phase because I hadn't lost weight)I had lost 6 lbs. I came down with a bad cold and didn't worry about following the diet the following week, just eating was an accomplishment. I ended up buying the book and reading up a little more on the diet. I found out that I had really not followed the diet the way I was suppose to. Even though I wasn't eating over my 20 carb allowance, I was eating too many vegetables. Also, I had stocked up on "sugar free treats" that I thought would be ok, but even artifical sweetners can slow your metabolism. I started the induction phase over on July 13th without sugar free treats except jello, and cut back on veggies and increased meat, cheese, and eggs and have lost 2 lbs already. I don't know if you have read the book, but I find that it has helped me tremendously with understanding the diet a little better. Hope this helps!

Ketone strips
I'm curious about these ketone strips. I bought some that have 5 color stages. The highest mine has ever gone is about the third one which is moderate, but usually it's lower than that (trace to small). I feel like I am following the diet very strictly. Shouldn't it be higher than that?
