I'm 28 years old. I've been on FS for a year now but my weight loss journey started on May 1st 2010 at 201 lbs. I'm 5'3'' so I was obese class 2 at the time.
I started to struggle with my weight when I was a teenager. I didn't like the way I looked and I went on several diets for over a decade. Most of my adolescent and college years, my weight was around 140-145. I worked out a lot to maintain that weight.
When I met my husband, five years ago, I was approximatly 140 lbs. I gained a bit of weight when we started dating and went up to about 160 lbs. I hated the way I looked and decided to go on a very strict diet. I lost 40 lbs and was 120 lbs in the fall 2008. When I started to eat normally again, I lost it. I was so deprived with food that I binged pretty much all the time. By the time I got married in May 2009, I had gained 60 lbs.
By April 2010, I had reached 201 lbs. I started another diet in May 2010 and lost about 10 lbs over the summer. I struggled to keep it up though since that diet was not really working for me. On November 11, 2010, my dad suffered from a heart attack. I guess that was the WAKE UP call for me. For the first time, I realize how important it is to do this right. It's important to eat sufficiently, to exercise and to do this mostly to be healthy.
UPDATE: As of January 2012, my BMI is normal (23.9). My resting heart rate is 63 and my blood pressure is 109-66! Rock on! I am looking to drop an extra 15 lbs by the summer in order to buy a pair of skinny jeans and a bikini! I can't wait!!!
