I have to lose atleast another 17 lbs. by july 16th for my next doctor's visit, or else he will put me on diabetic medicine. My doctor informed me in January, after a routine blood test (for my insurance through my work) that my sugar average, over the last four times of getting bloodwork, was at a level 6. He said that I was pre-diabetic and that at 7 and above, I have to be on medication. He told me that Type II diabetes can be prevented through weightloss. He asked me to lose 20 lbs in January before my next visit in July. I do not want to be on medication. I have only lost five lousy pounds. I am also a MSW student going after a Masters Degree in Social Work, specializing in Mental Health and Addictions. I am currently doing my practicum work through my job at a Mental Health Facility in Indiana. I am under more stress now than I have ever been in my life. I eat much of the time to relieve stress. I am 10 years sober from drugs and alcohol. I have three daughters; identical twins are 20 y/o girls and oldest girl is 23. I am married to my best friend, but who is also a pre-diabetic and obese. We have been together since 2003 and married since 2008. We sabotage eachother's attempts at losing weight. We do it by going on a diet together and then one of us will cave in and the other one will follow along. That is my story.
