I am a Christian, 46 yrs old and a proud parent of 4 children, a son in law and a grandbaby. My husband is in the Air Force and we are stationed in Central Coast California. I am a certified teacher, but taking a year off from teaching as my husband recently returned from Afghanistan.
I have high blood pressure, which has been drastically reduced. High cholesterol, which I believe will also be corrected with my diet change. I have a fused neck and current foot problems which is making exercise very difficult for me.
I am on my journey of losing 54 lbs. My mini goal from currently losing 14 lbs is to lose a lb a week and to be down a size for my youngest daughters hs graduation. I hope to lose the remainder by Christmas of 2010. Just as importantly, learn to eat and cook healthy, delicious food and inspire others to enjoy the right foods to treat their bodies well.

bad back!
I had a neck fusion 4 yrs ago and went to a neurosurgeon yesterday. I know how frustrating it is! Glad you asked this question. I hope all goes well with you. I have done water aerobics and found it great (no teachers here now so not available). I tried breast lap swimming and it was too painful, I didn't know why...thanks Jill. I didn't think of doing back crawl. That I bet I could do...or the underwater thing. My podiatrist suggested a recumbant bike. Did that but still have some pain. Hope you find something that will work for you!

I totally agree with Carbcount and Pstansel! I was eating them...doing net carbs.... 4 weeks no loss. Got ketostrips...not in ketosis anymore. Got back on induction... going only by totaly carbs now... 20 a day.

Share your tips for getting the water in!
I bought a rubbermade container that holds 32 oz. The container is tall and fits in my cars beverage container.I fill it from a big jug of SParkletts water I buy. I take it everywhere and fill it up 3 times a day.
