I'm 32, in Alberta, Canada, married with no children (yet). Heavy since birth, family all heavy too but I'm the biggest.

We've been trying to start a family for 3 years years now, so my goal is trying to get healthy while trying to get pregnant. I'm hoping that the health of my future child adds to my own (somewhat sketchy) willpower.

Eat less, and move more.
Yes, but with a codicil. I think it needs to be changed to "eat BETTER, move more." Some people are in this condition because they aren't eating enough, and when they do it's all the wrong things.

Can you help? Using oil in cooking...
I overestimate a bit i.e. 1/3 of the EVOO, I'm on weight watchers and am usually at the high end of my daily points so I like the bit of wiggle room that allows. If you are a person who finds it hard to get enough calories than I would ignore that small portion or count maybe 1/4 Tbsp. like Kmartin suggested.

Never turns out crunchy...
Use Panko crumbs! Panko is Japanese bread crumbs, much lower than regular bread crumbs and it takes a LOT to make them soggy! I buy them in a box at Safeway in the bread/bagel area, I think mine are Kikkoman brand. Wonderful!
