I am a 66 year old retired mechanical designer. I have ankylosing spondylits, copd, rheumatoid arthritis and was recently diagnosed with parkinson's. I have had mostly a sedentary lifestyle as advised by doctors years ago. Now they reverse that decision and say stay active. I was 293lb and am now 258lb, I would like to get to 200lb. From 293lb it was easy, just portion control, but now it has stopped and I have to work at watching what I am eating and try to become more active. I am working on the activity by going to physical therapists to set me up a non destructive program and I have to watch my medicines closely. I also have type 2 diabetes, the doctor has cut the metphormin in half and may remove it completely just from the weight loss.
I volunteer at the local hospital 4 half days a week, that keeps me busy. I have 4 children; 42 to 27 years old and 3 grand kids, my wife will work till she drops probably.
