I have long since learned that I am a starter - I do really great at the beginning of whatever task it is I set for myself, but do not always finish.

In trying to reach my ideal weight, I am a perennial starter - and never a finisher or a continuer. This time I'm working really hard to change that :)

I love eating, food is wonderful - I just need to work on finding a better balance with it. There's no reason to not eat the foods I want as long I am smart about how much.

I also love working out, though since I graduated college I definitely have not done it consistently enough. Now add in a boyfriend who loves me at my current size and it's way too easy to get home and flop on the couch with him instead of get out and do something active.

I definitely believe that community is important, and know I can't do this alone. That's why I'm here - it's a great website!

Here we go again.
You can do it! I know when I'm not exercising at all I don't process my stress as well - hopefully you find that as you get into eating better and being more active it helps you deal with the other things as well. Be patient with yourself (part of loving yourself) and know that we are all here for you through thick and thin (pun intended).

Confessions of a Food Addict
Saw this on MSN today:

Thought it was well written. I figure many of you will find it on your own, but wanted to post it for those who don't.

I Love my Body because............
After reading a post made by a beautiful woman about her lack of self confidence, I figured it was time to try to get a little more positive energy back...

Today I love my body because my belly is flatter this month than it was last month. Makes my (teeny tiny) boobs look just a wee bit bigger (no, I haven't been drinking...yet) - and I like seeing how it curves in, even if it's just a little bit.

fell off
Smile I'm with both of you guys - I've decided that this self-created "lull" of sorts is just me trying to give my skin some time to catch up with my awesome weight-losing-regimen (or so I'm telling myself so I don't feel quite so bad about it).

I have decided to give myself a little break from logging, not from trying to eat better. I'm giving it 2 weeks from tomorrow's weigh-in. If I can lose, I may continue trying to not log for a while, but in all likelihood, I will not lose and will be back on here with my daily intake.

What are your biggest secrets/tips?
I don't track my exercise calorie-wise. It's been discussed (here and many other places) that people who exercise tend to eat more and thereby negate the positive effects of their exercise. So on here I focus only on my eating. I still try to run and swim 3 or 4 times a week each - but I track those through my times and my distances and make that a separate goal.
