Lets see... a little bit about myself. I'm a geeky girl that works in IT. I go to gaming conventions to play D&D, card and board games. I also play WoW. I'm a little quirky and a very direct and to the point kind of person. I think analytically as opposed to emotionally. I've been in a relationship with an amazing man that supports me in everything that I do for 2 years now and I am a part time step mom to an adorable 4 year old and a 14 year old. In the past I did Atkins for a year, lost 75 pounds and then maintained it for 3 years. Unfortunately my life started to fall apart emotionally and I fell back into bad habits and my sugar addiction took back over. I'm at my highest weight ever now and for the first time feel unhealthy and out of energy so I decided it was time to finally get back up and do something about it. I know I can do this. :)

I decided to try Nutrisystem because every time I tried to get back on track with Atkins I found myself making excuses like "I'm too tired to cook" and "there's nothing in the house to eat". NS took away all of those excuses. I was sceptical at first since I had never had success with any eating plan other than Atkins in the past but I've been very pleasantly surprised and the food is actually very good. I thought I was going to just do NS for a month or so to get myself back on track with energy and then switch back to Atkins but I find myself not having any desire to leave it yet, it's just too convenient and easy and it's working.

Eventual wean off of NS
I flex enough meals that I only get a box ever 2 months or so. I've been doing that for a good while now. Last week every dinner was flexed since I was also feeding 2 kids every night.

Eventual wean off of NS
NS is based on the ADA dietary exchanges and plan. If you want to learn how to eat on your own just call and ask a counselor for the day off plan. They'll break down what each meal counts as even further. It isn't exactly all about calorie counting... it's about getting the right ratios of protein, carbs, and fats in as well.

Answering the big question: "how did you lose weight"
I think you hit most of the bullet points. I get asked all of the time but I have an easier generic answer, it's Nutrisystem. But what it all boils down to is everything you said, and I do expand into each of those catagories as well. My advice to anyone that wants to start is always the same... don't take your diet so seriously that it makes you stress out over it, don't set unrealistic goals and expectations and don't think you can just jump in and do everything at once. Start slowly and work your way in if you need to. You have to be ready to do this both emotionally and physcially at the same time to get the results you want. I don't deny myself anything that I really want I just question whether I really need it and make myself think about it and wait before I go for it instead of making an impulse decision to eat something.
