I am trying to win the biggest loser at work, and seeing as how i did so well on Atkins 8 years ago losing 50 lbs in 4 months, i thought i was a shoe in. Boy was I wrong. 8 years makes a huge difference to my metabolism. So now i have to WORK really hard to lose weight. I am still winning the competition but but only just, i'd prefer to have a streaking lead.
Started end of Aug weighing in at 113kg. Now its 10th Oct and I weigh 106 kg, so its OK.. but not great.

Atkins on a tight budget. Ideas please
Hey everyone, I want to ask if any of you have any (ATKINS INDUCTION)recipe ideas that are delicious and cost effective for those of us on a very (very) tight budget? And good tasting too?
I can afford to spend roughly about $80.00 a fortnight on grocery's, which is not much at all. *bloody recession*

See a link to our costs in New Zealand at our online grocery store (which has competitive prices)

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated THANKSVery Happy

I think where you live makes a real difference. In New Zealand our prices are very high.

And being on Atkins is very tricky cos so many of the products you mentioned I cannot have.

Do you / Would you take your kids into a liquor store?
Our mum used to take us into the liquor store when she wanted to buy her weekly booze (it was the 70's) and we thought nothing of it.
Whats even more shocking to today's sensibilities is that when we were kids we waited all day in the car with chips and cans of coke while our parents drank in the pub. Back then it was normal and nobody thought anything of it. Nowadays its called neglect and prosecutable in a family court.
It made no effect to us as adults and never scarred us at all. I hardly drink at all and my sister is a moderate to regular drinker. So there ya go.

Advice please?
Ask your friend to not make them this time, or ask her to keep them out of your reach. A good friend wont mind supporting you with this.

I just today put a post asking for help with budgeting on Atkins as I have a budget around what you are aiming for, but my Atkins diet is rich in fats and proteins, mostly from meat and eggs, and leafy greens, all of which are very expensive. Its the grains and pasta that cost next to nothing for a struggling budget, all of those things are on my banned list, so HELP anybody!!!
