Erinwarrior, you mentioned prepare for menopause. Draglist recommended a book to me called younger next year. What he didn't know is there is one for women, it has lots of info, I would suggest reading it. I checked it out from the library. I'm past that phase but it does address it in detail. For me eating lots of soy helped and some soy supplements. I was not happy with hrt therapy and my doc then was a jerk about it. Needless to say he wasn't my doc after that. There is also another book a bit older but lots of good info "beautiful bones without hormones". Wish I would have read both of these years ago. Mom had osteo and so do I.

You had me curious about the book you mentioned so I am taking your advice and checking it out... even purchased a copy for my DH.Very Happy

Group for those going through menopause or perimenopause
Hello Ladies! I most definitely fall into this group! Had my partial hysterectomy at 32 and now that I am 50 boy have things slowed down! One thing I have found that helps with the crazies (emotion roller coaster I find myself on at times) is exercise. I found that when I am in this mode, getting out and burning some calories really helps me to regain reality and face life again on a more positive note.

erwinwarrior... (love the name btw) Welcome! I first have to say that you are doing a wonderful job on your journey!

As for the prepare for menopause... Is there anyway to prepare? IDK but to embrace it and enjoy the next phase of your life.

I too had a hysterectomy (partial at age 32) Menopause is different at age 50 for me and I find little online to advise. Just know that life starts to slow down a bit. (for me anyway)

But that can be a very good thing!

Again welcome to the journey!

Older women????
Hello Kydd4kids! I think you are right on with what you're saying. Making small changes... (ie; hubby and I added more green veggies to our meals last month, and are currently working on choosing whole grains over the white stuff this month) I think the biggest thing I am trying to let go of is playing the number game. When I lost the 70lbs before that was my drive. Now I want to just be healthier. I have my first grandbaby on the way and would love to be able to enjoy playing with her without getting tired.
My exercise motivation has not been the greatest either. I would love a "dupa" motivator as well. I am willing to shake my pompoms if you are. lol Wink
