losing hope
I know this may sound strange but everyone is different and listening to conventional diet wisdom did not work for me either. I am dealing with high blood sugar and I ate no sweets and flours, what I figured out after 2-3 years is that it was the dairy causing it. I did not drink milk but even the atkins shakes would cause my blood sugars to stay above 90 all day long and my fasting was always over 100. I saw immediate results within two days of saying no to dairy, blood sugar drop of 20 points fastings are now in the mid to low 80s. That really stinks since I like dairy and already do not eat grains, but my weight is finally starting to go down in stead of slowly up. Try eliminating diary and grain out of your diet first and then start bringing other foods in to see what you react to. Many people can eat dairy unfortunately I am not one of them Sad

carbs
I find a glucose meter can tell you alot I avoid anything that spikes my blood sugar, and it is probably different with everyone, but that has pointed me away some foods and towards others. Kind of crazy, everyone is different.
