Hello! I am 33 yrs old, happily married and ready to look and feel awesome again. Over the past 10 years, I have tried almost every diet under the sun, this has allowed me to learn a lot about what works, what doesn't, and why. Knowing is only half the battle though!

Over the past year I have lost a little weight, then quit tracking my calorie intake and gained 1 or 2 lbs back. In January of 2010 I made a vow to God to quit smoking and drinking for a year. I kept this vow! In June of 2010 I added two more vows to not drink soda or eat sweets for 6 months. I kept this vow too! As of January 1st 2011 my vows have been upheld and I am ready for my next resolutions. SO here are my vows for 2011:

#1 - I will not smoke a cigarette for 1 more year!

#2 - I will be moderate in my intake of sweets, soda, and alcohol. Moderate by my definition is no more than any ONE of these three things a week. If I have soda one time in a week, I will not have sweets or alcohol, or if I have alcohol one time in a week, I will not have sweets or soda, etc. This will keep me on track for the year.

#3 - No matter how difficult it may be, I will record all the food that I eat every day of the year, as of today 1/7/2011.

#4 - I will exercise at least three days a week for at least 30 minutes a day for an entire year. (As of today 1/7/2011)

Those are my vows. I intend to stick to them fervently!

Do you weigh yourself nakeD?
Actually, I get up, use the toilet, strip and weigh myself. This is the only way I can really be sure if my weight has changed, but I also examine myself in my bathroom mirror when I weigh myself, because weight is just a number, if I LOOK better to me that means more anyhow.

10 Things You Need to Know
Finally got a chance to watch this. It is really so cool! I already forwarded the link on to my father. He had his first heart attack when I was 19 and has had bypass surgery and angioplasties over the years. He has struggled with being overweight for decades and just recently had hip replacement surgery in both of his hips and made a dedicated decision to lose weight. He has been doing the South Beach diet and lost 40 lbs! SO proud of him! He has been so anti-diet for so long I never thought he would do it, but he still wants to lose another 30. It makes me so happy to think that he might be around a lot longer if he can just stick to a plan to be healthy!
