Hooray! Down another pound this AM. Getting ready to throw my clothes on, eat my omelette and H2O, and hit the road....will have leftover parmesan-baked cod and fake potatoes (cauliflower) for lunch. Dinner? Hmm.....not sure....so far, I haven't eaten out with SB. Seems like it would be really hard to do on Phase 1.

I am totally losing my willpower, but I still haven't given in. It's too hard! I'm trying to make it to Fri.... but Phase 1 for me won't officially end until next Tue. morning. On Fri., I'm going out, and will have a glass of wine.

I probably shouldn't be weighing in every day, I'm just so anxious to get the fat off! I had another bad headache yesterday, and I still have it. I've been pushing the H2O, so I think that it must be something else. I'm just forging ahead to try to get through the last day of the first week of Phase 1. Just trying to take it 1 day at a time. There have been some really strong temptations on my part to say to hell with it, and go get myself some ice cream (I have a "free cone" card at Oberweis Dairy here), but so far (possibly due to my pounding headache), I've been able to beat back the temptation to go off-diet. I'm off to the kitchen now, to try out a new recipe I'm working on...

Well, I actually started this (the South Beach Diet, Phase 1, Day 1) in the morning on Tue., Aug. 7th. As of now, I've completed 5 days and I have been a very good girl, compliance-wise (to SB diet book)....however, I've had 2 really bad days (the past 2) during which I felt out-of-it, dizzy, tired, achy. I had a headache a couple of hours ago, and I had to take 3 Advil. I hope that I can make it. On Tue., Aug. 7th, when I started, I weighed 151; this evening, Aug. 11th, I weighed myself and I weighed 148.8. I'm still not convinced that I'm really losing any weight at all (due to "woman's issues" complicating my H2O gain/loss)...and so, I'm wondering: Is this really the right diet for me? Why is the weight not falling off, if I have been following Agatston's South Beach diet book, including food and meal suggestions, to a T? I need to lose my 15 lbs. But, I'm tired already of feeling so sickly.

I feel much better today. For one, I weighed myself this AM, and the scale said that I'm 147.2 now. For those who advised me to increase/monitor my H2O intake, thanks. It is extremely hot here in St. Louis, MO, right now (~100 degrees each day). If it was water yesterday, though, I'm surprised: I stopped at a Wild Oats market with my daughter and we both made our own salads for lunch. Mine was delicious! The smoked turkey that they have on their salad bar is really tasty! After consuming my salad, I also drank one of those large (~a quart) Fiji waters, which I drank throughout the rest of the day while I was out. I'm going to watch my water much more closely, and try to increase it...yesterday, I was running around a lot, from store to store, and at a big mall walking from end to end, trying to get my teenager ready for school (mission accomplished). One thing: Due to the incredible heat here right now, I did miss one snack, and had dinner late. Perhaps I just had a good old-fashioned case of self-induced hypoglycemia....LOL....
