Hi, My name is Pam. I'm 45, married to a wonderful husband and have a 16 year old son. Have been overweight all of my adult life and am just tired of not being able to do activities with my guys. They ride horses alot and I am always left behind, so my goal is to reach a weight so that I can go along. Not quite sure how much I'm going to lose, but did set a goal weight I'll just have to wait and see what. My main goal is to just get healthy.

Exercising at Night
I exercise around 7ish - 8ish. So I'm glad you ask this I was wondering the same thing. I really don't think it matters as long as you get it done. I'm up at 5:00am and exercise at that time seems to relax me, but I only do strength training at night M W F. I walk on the inside track in the day before I pick up husband from work.

Kids are funny!
I bought Whole Wheat buns for my Turky burgers and my guy's hamburgers. I was unsure if I should by regular buns for my 16 year old son. So I decide why spend extra money for one person who might use 2 or 3 buns and let the rest waist. I made him some hamburgers the other day he came in and said Mom is whole wheat buns all we have of course I said yes frowning he ate them. I dare not tell him the Spaghetti noodles he had been eating for the last month are whole wheat. I'm changing one thing at at time, like I chop bell peppers and onion up so little and saute them so there not crunchy and he eat them in the meat loaf never knows they are there. At least he is eating veggies that way.

Atkins tips & tricks for newbies
Thanks for the tips. I have already figured out that I have to cook at least 2 days in advance. Because I have to cook separate meal for family so it makes it easier if mine is already done.

Goal Weights
I was unsure so I picked the last range on the chart which is on my ticker. That isn't really my goal as I do better to do small goals so in my mind that is what I'm doing. So goal 1-300 goal 2-250 etc. That way I won't get discouraged with the big picture. I really don't mind how much I weigh as long as it's under 200lbs and I'm fit.
