I recently got engaged (August 22, 2010) and now have the ultimate motivation to lose weight: I want to look fantastic on my wedding day! I am 30 years old and not trying a fad diet. My fiance has too may restrictions for me to try many of those diets (poultry and pork allergies). Plus, most have never worked for me.

I work in a Museum mostly at a desk job, but some days are really active depending on what I am doing.

Wheat, Soy, Milk, Corn Food Sensitivities
Hey all,
I just found out that I am wheat, soy, milk, and corn sensitive and now have to limit that intake to one serving or less a day. This is a real challenge for me and my husband as he has food sensitivities to poultry and pork.
I joined this site over a year ago and use it for a while, but fall off the band wagon. When I found out about the sensitivities I immediately thought of this site and the support I know I can find here.

Does anyone have any suggestions, comments, thoughts? I have been keeping pretty good track for the last 4 or 5 days of what I am eating so you can see what I am consuming. I will admit there are a few candies (2 pieces or so) not on my food diary. I do try to write down everything throughout the day and even start planning the next day each evening.

Thanks for any advice!!
I look forward to hearing from people in the same boat.

the kinect for fitness - is it worth it?
My fiance recently bought the Kinect and he got me Your Shape: Fitness Evolved. I had researched games online to see what people thought and that one rated better than the Biggest Loser game. I also tried my sister's Wii Fit and I like the Kinect much better! The only problem I have encountered with the game is it doesn't always acknowledge that you are in sync with your trainer and you actually are in perfect sync. We realized the problem for this was lack of light in the room. The room needs to be well lit and it works better.

The other thing to keep in mind when getting it is space. We have to push our couch all the way back and shove our coffee table off to the side to get enough space. So we essentially have to rearrange the living room to play the Kinect. Just a couple of my thoughts on the subject. I have enjoyed it so far and I do break out in a nice healthy sweat when I play it. Good Luck!

Get It Together
Good for you! I am falling off, well, more like a gradual slide. I always seem to after 3 weeks. Even if there is great progress like this time. I think I just get tired of all the changes while everyone around me is still eating the sweets, snacks, fast food, etc. Like today, I skipped my workout again. I haven't worked out since last Wednesday. I am trying really hard to get motivated again, but its tough. Good Luck to you, I am sure you can do it!

For those in the Midwest
Wanda Jo - I am in the Black Hills area. I usually love it here, it's gorgeous and lots of opportunities for nice hikes, but right now it's just ridiculous out. Stay warm! Smile
