On my way!
This is officially my second day. Things seem to be going well. I'm 30 years old and the mother of a 5 year old boy and a 19month old girl. I've been actively going to they gym for the last 2 months and using a personal trainer once a week. I'm weight lifting and alternating with cardio. I have yet to see any results, actually my weight has recently gone up. My PT has suggested keeping a food diary so I started with writing it down in a book and I seem to forget my book and I really had no idea how many calories were in what I was eating so the note book wasn't working for me. I found the app for fat secret on my blackberry and thought that I always have my bb so might as well give it a try. It have been very convenient to use as I always have my phone. Now I know exactly how many calories I'm consuming and it seems to make me more aware of what I'm eating.

I had a body fat test done and I'm sitting at 28% my goal is to reach 18% by October which is 3 1/2months away.

I've taken a quick look at the different forums but don't really see any that stick out to me for support. Any suggestions.

I think I'm pretty active I go to the gym 5 days a week for about an hour to an hour and half. I run around after my kids.

If there is anyone interested in assisting me that would be great I also can provide some great support.

Not eating enough
Janelle nuts like almonds are very high in calories and are good for you. Make sure they are unsalted. If you like peanut butter, my personal trainer recommend putting some peanut butter on celery to assist in getting in calories. Just be sure to try to eat healthy and not fried or fast food. Smile

Not eating enough
Here is some food for thought. I recently had my basal metabolic rate tested (the amount of calories my body requires to maintain the weight I'm at during complete rest) it was 1615 cals. I have 28% body fat. Once I had this test done I took notice of what I was eating in a day and turns out that I was eating around 1200. I was also exercising approximately 5hr/week. Over many years of trying different diets and essentially being taught that I should consume 1200 cals my body learned to function on only this and I wasn't hungry for more. Turns out after a month of the gym and those current eating habits I was essentially starving myself. Becuase my BMR is 1615 I'm trying to consume 1700cals in a day plus exercise. This has been very hard to teach myself to eat more. I am very glad that I had my BMR tested I feel as though I'm on my way.

Do not eat just 1000 cals a day when you do this your body wants to hang on to every ounce of fat that you are putting into your body to feed itself when you aren't feeding your body.
