Keeping up the momentum...
Hello!
I am trying to slowly but surely get into better shape for my wedding (May 5, 2012).
I got engaged last February but didn't start thinking about my diet/exercise until this summer. I did a lot of walking over the summer (100 miles at least) and slowly added in hot yoga, cardio at the gym, and light weight lifting in the fall/early winter.
I am a little bit more toned than I was before, but I am nowhere near close to my goal. I tend to make poor food choices from time to time. The month of December was not the best when it came to food choices and exercise.
Now that it's 2012 the wedding is getting closer and I have a little bit of anxiety about looking and feeling my best. I don't just want to do this to look better (there are other reasons too!). My fiance' and I want to start our family a few months after we get married. I want to be as healthy as I can be when we start our family (and I want to be able to have a healthy recovery after we have a baby). I don't want to struggle and struggle with post pregnancy weight. I'd like to think that the better shape I am in going into all of this, the easier it will be to maintain it.
I joined Fat Secret to keep myself accountable. I want to read what others have to say and love finding inspiration in others' successes. I wish everyone the best of luck!

PMS - how do you stay on track at this time of the month?
I like what you suggested on your list. I'm going to try some of those things. I got my period 2x this last month (one was the week before Christmas and the other started New Year's Eve). I'm not sure what is going on (my period can be abnormal from time to time) but I had terrible cramps this second time around. I know that exercise is supposed to help so I went out for a long walk when the cramps were bad...and it helped. My cramps went away once I got into the groove of things on my walk. I like your tip #5 (gentle exercise) b/c that's what the walking feels like for me (even though I try to get lots of hills in there). Keep on posting to let me know what works for you!
