I turned 40 in October and weighed in heavier then I've ever been in my life - not exactly how I wanted to go 'over the hill'. I'm a stepmom to two very picky teenagers which basically means I'm eating the same junk food that they are, just because it's easier. That definitely has to change. Their dad and I have been together for 11 years now, and he often complains about his weight as well, so hopefully I will have a good support system. I am actively involved in animal rescue (I usually prefer my dogs company to most people I know...haha!) and that keeps me pretty busy. Good luck to all my fellow dieters - together I know we can do this!

UPDATE 4/16/2012

Back again....I was doing so well and then life got in the way. I was taking Zumba classes at least twice a week and loving it. I was walking the same. It was so easy and becoming a great habit. Then my work schedule changed and I couldn't attend classes anymore. I spent most of last winter sick and could barely make it through the day. But I'm back and healthy (or at least trying to be). I need to do this for me and I need to keep myself motivated and not expect others to do it for me!

where do I start?
There are lots of beginner workout videos on YouTube. I am not one that enjoys going to the gym, so I bought myself hand weights and resistance bands. If you start with just 15-20 minutes a day, it's easier to build up. I just set my alarm earlier and force myself to do it. I really have felt better and been more alert, positive and upbeat. Good luck with whatever you decide!

DIET BUDDIES NEEDED!!!
Hi everyone. Has been a crazy week getting ready to my step-daughter's graduation party on Saturday. Haven't had much time to post, exercise, OR eat right! UGH! But I'm doing enough cleaning and yard work that I think I'm burning right through the junk I'm eating. Hope everyone is having a good week....I'm exhausted! Smile

Weigh-ins...
And it's best to weigh yourself in the morning before you have breakfast. No sense weighing yourself in the evening after eating all day, no matter how well you did.
