New Diet
I know WW has helped many and is still doing so but I have one problem with them, we need good fats, avocado's olive oils etc. but on WW these are high in points yet they allow and encourage processed crap that is low in fats but high in sugars.

That being said the only thing I would suggest is that both you and your wife journal the foods you eat, comparing your calorie and macronutrients with each other then she can tell you what the points would be from how she tracks it on WW.

Ticker bar not moving :(
Some have gone to (Canada) if you're in the U.S. and found entering your weight or settings there has made it work. Give it a try.

Second month, only 1 lb lost
Good point wholefoodnut, I think we all forget that we can ask for different options and don't have to accept what's on the 'menu' or board...

I don't eat any fast foods because of health reasons more based on where the meats are grown and the breads are baked and whats in them.. But I can because of my job and position in life. I now see that Subway has cleaned up its act as far as the bread they offer, and A & W serves hormone free and no preservatives, its a small step in the right direction but is it an advertising gimmick or real?? Therefore I buy only from a local butcher and know what I'm getting....

That being said, Life on the road is all about choices and sometimes our eyes beat out common sense... So stay strong and think before you order.

anybody out there using the New Atkins book
Ahh, yes , the old one that came out in the 70's , eat as much meat and fat as you want and don't worry about the calories. We really enjoyed our steaks and bacon back then I'll tell you. I still do but in moderation now.

He's come along way and even though he may not be the author of the latest one it is still his staff and original theory. It has been brought into the new generation adapting to our different lifestyle.

I will be a 'low carber' or 'complex only carber' for life. Tried many other things over the years including vegetarianism and always feel better with the meats and fish in my diet.

Family, food, and fifty five steps!
Good for you Kathy ! Isn't it wonderful when you can still enjoy an event but stay healthy. Those 55 steps sound like a good butt workout too!

I have been eating clean for so long now that all my friends are used to me, they are shocked when I grab something off the sweet table. I usually choose the 1 biters so I don't waste food.

Well done to take your own food knowing what the choices would be, Glad you had a good time and keep it up!
