What Formula Does Fatsecret Use to Compute Calories
I looked up the nutrition labeling guidelines here: http://www.fda.gov/Food/GuidanceComplianceRegulatoryInformation/GuidanceDocuments/FoodLabelingNutrition/FoodLabelingGuide/ucm064894.htm.

To make a long story short, there are rounding rules for each of the components listed on the label. In addition to the rounding rules, manufacturers are permitted to calculate total calories based on either the printed number on the label or the actual amount in the food, which may be different that what is on the label.

These guidelines make it very common for the numbers not to match up exactly on the labels.

Hope this clarifies some Smile

Adding a Food
That's what I'm looking into the forums for at the moment as well...trying to understand why you can't choose the metric units when you enter foods. I weigh everything; almost nothing I enter is in terms of cups and the sort. It's very frustrating to put in the metric serving of a food and only be able to utilize the Imperical units.
