I've been lifting weights for years. I've also ran a couple marathons (as well as smaller races) but took some time off from running. BTW taking time off from running = gaining 25 lbs of fat. So I'm here to get back into lower calorie eating, fat burning mode. Find out more about me on my blog http://midlifecansuckit.wordpress.com or Twitter https://twitter.com/SuckItMidlife

Screw the Diet: Just Eat Real Food!
Great posts here! Regarding cost, I've found that eating real food is actually cheaper than buying the processed "food like products". Items like brown rice, potatoes, tuna, frozen vegetables, eggs...these are fairly inexpensive. For meat I always look for what's on sale, buy several of whatever it is and freeze away. Plus, the key for me is when I stick with mostly real food - I'm satisfied, my blood sugar is balanced & I eat less. Smile

Screw the Diet: Just Eat Real Food!
What diet are you following? Have you tried this diet? Have you tried that diet? Here’s the newest, faddiest diet there is! Here’s the diet that all of the celebrities are using! Here’s the diet that I read about in a magazine!

Blah.

My diet is simple, really simple. And I know it works, cause I’ve used it before with great success. It’s called “eating real food!”. That’s right, REAL food. Not some lab experiment in a box. Not some concoction of chemicals created by food scientist. Food. Real Food.

So what is Food? Food = Meat. Vegetables. Rice. Potatoes. Butter (REAL butter). Olive Oil. Nuts. Fruit. Beans. One ingredient items. Not something that comes in a box or is squeezed out of a tube. It’s the stuff you find mostly on the perimeter of your grocery store.

I try to eat real food 90% of the time when I’m in health mode (note: BEING in health mode and STAYING in health mode are two different things, but that’s for another post). I find that when I eat mostly real food, two things happen:

1) I feel GREAT!

2) I eat less

Of course that then leads to pants that fit & not hating what I see in the bathroom mirror, which is a nice side effect to say the least!

Go ahead, don’t over think it & give it a try. It might just change your life.

New Here !
Good luck! I've got 27 lbs to knock off myself. BTW running sheds the lbs (I was 30+ lbs lighter a few years ago when I was running marathons).

My first day tracking my food & exercise with FatSecret, pleased with what I've seen so far! I even blogged about it here: https://midlifecansuckit.wordpress.com/

Looking forward to tracking my weight fall 27 lbs over the next few months!
