I live in the DC area. Lost 70 pounds in 6 months in 2004 and have kept it off + losing 6 more pounds since then. It's an everyday challenge because my natural state is to eat and veg. I exercise daily and track everything I eat.

Cant keep weight off!!!
Maude,
Be careful about the calories you think you are burning during the day. The calorie counters in gyms way overstate what you burn. You may be doing everything right on the input side (by eating right), but you may be giving it up on the output side (in what you burn). I use a bodybugg (like on the biggest loser) to track what I burn in a day and plan my eating around that.

Heart Rate Monitor, Do you have one? is it accurate? What do you have?
I do a 2 hour hard cardio workout everyday and find using a heart-rate monitor is invaluable. The calorie counts on cardio machines are notoriously inaccurate, and the HRM at least gives consistency between machines. Plus, it enables me to do intervals for additional calorie burn. I used to use the Polar F11, but I started to get inconsistant and sometimes no readings. I moved to another Polar HRM and have had no problem.
