I'm a 28 year old animator going into my last (thank God!) semester of college! I lost a fantastic 30 lbs on my own last year, and I want to keep it up! Growing up, I was almost always underweight! I was a dancer and always in shape, but when I graduated high school, quit taking dance classes and turned 20, WHAM! Life catches up, and you realize you can't just eat anything anymore! So now I'm not just trying to get thin again, I'm trying to get healthy, and strong like I used to be!

My largest was 195 a year and a half ago. Now I am in the 160's and with the help of my beloved Wii, I am growing muscles in places I didn't even knew I could! (Behind my knees, what?)

If you want a friend and someone to talk to, friend me! I'm always looking for the same! :D

Is too much a bad thing?
Watch the fat. It's the thing that can hurt your heart if you eat too much. But hon, honestly, it's calories in, calories out! If you're not eating more than you're supposed to, calorie wise, then it doesn't matter where the calories come from! You WILL still lose weight!

Just cannot drink enough water
I'm with those who say it has to be ice cold! It's just not that palatable if it's warm or room-temp.

I have to disagree with those who are against the Crystal Light, however. Really, if you're going to end up drinking more water because of Crystal Light, then what's more important? It's like telling someone that they shouldn't kick their Pepsi habit for Diet Pepsi because of the fake sugar!! You know how much real sugar they won't be eating?? And especially if it's just a transitional step!

For me, Crystal Light (and, indeed, Diet Pepsi) was a transitional step for me. It's way easier to get into drinking water with help. We're like addicts, we need transitional steps! We need to be stepped down off sugar, and we need to step up the water intake. You don't just start working out, lifting 50 lbs in one day, right? No, you start small! Going whole hog on something too ambitiously will only burn you out!

And if you are looking for alternatives to water, I've found that G2, the "diet" Gatorade is great (as well as more hydrating) and so it Propel! A tasty way to ease into water! Very Happy

Kind of a gross question, but...
Ok, so here's a question that I've never been able to find an answer to, and never could get myself to ask anyone in person who's knowledgeable enough.

But, does anyone know how diarrhea affects our diet? Do you not absorb as many calories? Does this mean you can eat more later that day? Or do we just get a boost to the weight loss?

I ask because I have IBS, and tend to get ill quite often. And yeah, I know they say food takes something like 36 hours to go through you, but I swear I've had it happen in less than 3 hours.

Anyway, TMI, but I just gotta know if anyone knows the answer!

Lost weight but not reflected in my bar?
So I lost a few lbs, and it says so on my FatSecret page, but isn't being reflected on my bar at the bottom of posts... what's up here? Anyone know? Do I have to change it manually or something? Confused Question

Protein: How soon after workout?
I've heard you use protein most efficiently right after you work out. Does anyone know how soon after working out you should eat some protein rich food? Question
