If you read your own post again, you'll see that when you mentioned pasta and pizza you automatically assumed they come in large quantities. That's not the case. Italian people have pasta for lunch every single day. belive it or not. Even the thin ones. But we do weigh it before we cook it. It's between 80-100gr per person. Not that much if you ask me. And the pizza i eat here is very different from the one i tasted in the US. I have a pizza with vegetables and a small quantity of mozzarella. what does bother me though is that my husband has a sweet tootha nad brings candy and gelato in the house on a daily basis. That yes! Tht gets in the way but I am handling it1

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
i used to weigh myself at least once a day but that is often too discouraging. I now do it once a week or even less often. i prefer to try on my clothes. this way i can tell if i have lost weight without obsessing about numbers

Dear Preggo38, Thanks for the encouragement and the positive private message, I sent a reply earlier.

ok dear diablo. excess cheese on your slice does mean extra calories. homemade tomato sauce has everything to do with it because you see what you put into it. A tiny bit of healthy olive oil with tomatoes and none of the stuff you find in those american microwaveable or restaurant dishes. That means reducing the calories. These past two weeks I have eaten pasta and pizza and have still lost two kilos. I try to work out more,(luckily I enjoy it very much) and I also swim twice a week doing 80 laps at a time (in 1 hour in a 25m swimming pool) I will agree that it is a lifestyle change and consistency is the most important thing but your first two sentences were so irrelevant.I suppose you have not been to italy. Women are sooo thin and gorgeous and still eat pasta for lunch every single day. (That proves your comments wrong). Good luck with your own weight loss.

As I have already said, since I live in Italy, pasta and pizza cannot be avoided. I try to eat more protein and vegetables during the weekdays but pasta and pizza are a must at the weekend, just because we have big family lunches and dinners. I work out though so my weight loss is mostly due to the hard work at the gym and the twice a week swimming course. (80 lanes at a time)I like the fact that i lose weight at a slow rate, I just hope I can go on for a long time. And I don't even follow a proper diet. Just common sense. Whenever I need a snack I have some celery with turkey cold cut rolled around it so it tastes less .....celerish. I have cut down on bread and love love love my greek spinach recipe.
