I started my journey in January of 2010 weighing my heaviest 235lbs. I lost 40 pounds and found myself at a standstill. I joined a TEAM weight loss at my gym and through a fellow TEAM member found Fatsecret. Just before Thanksgiving I was down to 177lbs. Once the new year began I had moved up to TEAM fitness (a more challenging class) and was feeling really good about myself. Unfortunately I suffered a back injury, and took way to long to realize that i needed to go to physical therapy.

Since I was injured, I couldn't work out at 100%, this is when I should have been more diligent in my eating habits in stead I said "f*** it, this is too hard and I am tired of trying so hard"

So, here is the bottom line...
I have been away from fatsecret for about 6 months and have gained back between 15 - 20 pounds.

What this has made me realize is that I need accountability and keeping track of my foods is a necessity! Fatsecret is the BEST site I have found for this and I am ready to get back on track.

I love the community support and look forward taking this journey with you! Can't wait to start seeing our progress!!!

New kid on the block....
If you just do WW on it is $14. If you attend the meetings, it is $44 a month and the on-line "e-tools" is included.

I will tell you what finally pushed me into the "sign me up category"

1. I have a gym membership. I have this membership because I HATE working out alone and I am too distracted to stick to a good routine at home. My gym membership helps me stay accountable for my fitness!

2. Nutrition is where I struggle! Always have. So I finally thought to myself. If I am willing to invest monthly into a gym membership, why wouldn't I invest monthly into my nutritional health since that is where I need the most motivation and accountability! Comes out to $9 a week (and 2 less fast food meals that I probably would have been eating otherwise)

GOOD LUCK

P90X2
I have been gearing myself up to do P90X! I think the program is fantastic and the results speak for themselves, I am just the type of person who does not like working out at home or by myself, so I am not sure how well I would stick to it! I love going to the gym and the atmosphere that is there.

Do you set aside a specific time to do P90X2 each day no matter what, or do you fit it in whenever you can?

use to be 304 lb
Julie...you and I sound the same. I started at 235lbs and I am currently 184lbs. I took a solid year to loose the initial weight. this past year I gained a bit back (reason for my new tracker), got back on Fat secret and have been working at getting to my next goal weight. Slow and steady is exactly how I need to do it in order for it to stay off! Smile

what has been your most successful dieting strategy
although I do work out and have come to really enjoy and need it! My hardest think has been reminding myself that it is 80% nutrition and 20% physical activity.

therefore, even if you can't physically do the exercises you want counting calories is essential.

I personally am finding that Weight Watchers makes it very easy for me to count calories and think about portion control.
