I'm a mother of 2 in my early 30's. Losing weight after this second baby has been difficult for me. It's been 7 months since I've given birth and I still can't fit into alot of my clothes. I can't afford to go out and get a whole new wardrobe so I just gotta lose this weight! I plan on starting an exercise program and going on a good carb/high protein/high fiber diet when I'm done with the Master Cleanse.

How often do you weigh yourself?
I weigh myself every morning. I like to do it when I first wake up before I eat or drink anythin and oh yeah, after I've emptied my bladder. I wonder if this is slightly obsessive but its not like I'm doing it several times a day. (Ok sometimes I'll weigh myself at night too Embarassed) How often do you weigh yourself?

fasting
I think it depends. Also it depends on what you mean by fasting. In the strict sense, fasting is only having water to drink. I think you should only do this for 24 hours. No more.

There are other types of "fasts" that include drinking juices or teas, that are really more like liquid diets. I think you can do these for a longer period of time, maybe a week tops. Some have done them for longer.

I think that fasts, all types, are really good for clearing your mind and your body. Whenever I've done one I've come to some realization about my life. I've gotten insight into something I need to start doing or some part of my life that needs work. They are also really helpful when it comes to ending cravings you might have for junk food.

And yes, fasts are good for losing weight too.

How do you add buddies?
How can you add buddies? Also what's the best way to meet people here? Through the forums? I'm kind of new here and I'm still trying to figure everything out.

A little about me, I'm 31 yrs old. I've been married for 6 years (yikes!) and have 2 kids. My son is 2 yrs old and my daughter is 7 months old. My family is my life! I work full-time and sometimes work wants to take over. Evil or Very Mad But I don't let it. Evil or Very Mad
My biggest challenge right now is getting back to exercising. I've been using the workouts on cable --Exercise TV- gotta love On Demand!
I am really really liking this site. Its awesome and has helped me a bunch in just a few days.
Looking forward to meeting some new people w/ similar goals. Smile

My MIL is the same way. What she does is have fat free/sugar free desserts like the weight watchers stuff or Sugar free jello with cool whip or a couple of sugar free cookies with some tea. It seems to work for her.

Or how about just having some fruit with cool whip?

Another suggestion -- try drinking a big glass of water a few minutes after your meal. Sometimes when you're thirsty your body craves sweets.
