I am a 48 yr old mom of three children (ages 22, 19 & 14) and wife of 25 yrs (this May). I have been on most of the popular diets and had success only with low carb diets, however, like all of us gained it back and then some. I have been diagnosed with high cholesterol and diabetes and I need to lose the weight now (not just want to). I know that I can stick to this plan and make it a lifestyle change. I have been successful in the past and I know that I can do it again only this time I must keep it off.

low blood sugar
I just started Atkins a week ago. I have to say I really didn't feel well on days 3-5. I had headaches, tiredness, body aches and moodiness. However, I could feel it getting better each day. By day 6 I was feeling great. I am on Day 8 now and have no headaches at all and my energy level is way increased to better than before I started. I am diabetic too so I was dealing with the shakes from such a change in blood sugar levels. I am experiencing BS readings now that my Dr. would be thrilled with. On my first weigh in yesterday, I lost 4 lbs, so, for me, I would say it was totally worth it.
