Is Atkins healthy?
Just to add to my last post about people jumping to conclusions with the "Atkins". It's not eating all meat and cheese. I eat alot of chicken, seafood and veggies. All healthy and nutritious. It's really not about eating 2 lbs of bacon a day.

Is Atkins healthy?
I am a believer in the Atkins diet but not in the sense that everyone jumps to when they hear "Atkins". Seven years ago I lost 30 pounds on the diet and never felt better in my life. Why did I gain 25 of those pounds back? This always kills me when people say "yeah, she lost it on that diet but gained it all back and more", well, how did I gain it back? By eating like a pig anything and everything I wanted at any time! It had noting to do with the Atkins, or any other diet that you chose. It has to do with having the good sense and fortitude to eat properly after you lose the weight on ANY diet. It doesn't have to do with the DIET. When I lost the weight my doctor was elated with all my vitals. You don't give up fruit forever. Once you lose the weight you want on the Atkins you then reintroduce those foods continuing to watch the bad carbs (cakes, cookies, etc). Monitor your weight regularly and when you see it going up, cut back until you reach your desired weight again. I did do this for 5 years, but for some reason just let go and pigged out, quit running and here I am. But I'm determined to go back to my low-carb lifestyle and like myself again!

mayo
So someone tell me who to believe...the jar of regular mayo says 0 carbs per tbsp but the label on this website says 3.5 per tbsp. I really want to believe the jar label. Any feedback?

Awesome website
Hi lmkb here and I just found this site. Started the Atkins today after losing 30 pounds seven years ago and regaining 25 of those back. Guess I "found" them again!
I'm 50 but feel 40 and I'm sure that losing 20 more pounds will make me feel 30. I love to run so I plan on combining diet and exercise to see a difference by the holidays - there's a challenge!
