I love the outdoors, and was in great shape for most of my life because of everything that I was doing outside (rock climbing, hiking, Venture Scouts). I graduated college and slowly started adding the weight on as I became less active outdoors, and became a full-time adult . . . I mean worker! I LOVE the calorie tracking feature on here, it is the number one thing I can really contribute to my weight lose, by using it to move to healthier choices. Because seriously who hasn't thought they were making a good choice with the Zaxby’s salad only to look at the nutrition label and realize you ate your entire allotment of calories in one sitting!

I knew I had been gaining weight, but acknowledging that (and the health risks associated with obesity) was hard for me. Health issues run in the family and for me it was scary to accept that I was going down that path! So last year I decided that need to change, not just too lose weight but to live a healthier life and be able to do the things outdoors again that make me happy!

It has been difficult at times because I have not used any supplements or fads, just watching what I eat and moderate exercise. On average I was losing about a pound a week, and was hard to remember to keep looking at the big picture. But now a year in and 35 pounds, 5 sizes smaller, and my medical numbers kicking butt I can see the rewards and have even more motivation to drop the last 15 pounds! My goals are to strengthen and tone.

***5/27/14 Update***

I guess I can say I feel off the wagon a bit! Been almost a year since I have been on here. After I had my gall bladder out this time last year, I was at 155 - 160 pounds but it was because I couldn't eat anything without having an attack! I started some night classes too and it really has thrown me off my healthy eating & planning too! Blah.... but I would love to get down to 150 pounds! I'm at 168 right now, and I can totally lose the 18 pounds!!!

Need help finding motivation...
Food wise, I keep the freezer stocked up with LeanCuisen and Healthy Choice. They have a lot of all natural meals that are a quick and healthy alternative to fast food and take out, and they are just as easy. Also LeanCuisine has a rewards program where you can earn movie tickets, amazon gift cards, kitchen items, and trips too! Can you tell that I like to rewarded!

Need help finding motivation...
I have to find little tricks to motivate me, because if left to what to what I want to do I know I make poor choices! I joined with a couple people at work, joined on Earndit.com (you get gift cards for completing workout, getting miles, etc), and joined HealthMonth.com (you set goals and it make acheiving your goals a game with help from other people). Also a pedometer worked for me becauee I am competitive (I use FitBit). The hardest part is finding the thing that works for you, and I even have to change it up every few months and find new things. But as you do it more it becomes natural and you don't have to work to make it happen. Good luck!

Low calorie peanut butter
I love the P2B! I add it to my oatmeal for an extra boost, but I still eat regular nut butters to get the good fats I need and cut out all the sat and trans fat. If you have an Ingles grocery store near you they have a grinder in there store to make your own nut butter, and the nice thing is there are no other ingredients!

Adding exercise
Yup jothika is right, reduce by the same amount of time and replace it with resting or whatever your default activity is.
