Hi, Im a 44 yr old mother of 4 (2 mine and 2 stepkids). I have several health issues including asthma, chronic sinusitis, food and environmental allergies, sleep apnea, GERD, Goiter, etc, etc. I need to loose 130 lbs to get to my goal and I want to use a Low Carb High Protein plan to do it. I have tried this before and people talk me out of it saying low carb isn't healthy. Well, I am finally putting my foot down and doing it anyway. I am allergic to wheat and milk and my plan eliminates both. I feel better on this plan and I am doing it for life not just a temp fix. I also just found out that I am estrogen dominant, I have adrenal exhaustion and I am clinically hypothyroid. I need all the help I can get. I am also a very positive person and will be happy to offer encouragement and help to anyone who needs it. We are all in this together.

I like the way people have added thier goals here so I have decided to do the same:

Goal #1 240 lbs (first 25 lbs lost)Can reduce CPAP pressure from 9 to 7

Goal #2 215 lbs (50 lbs lost) can reduce CPAP pressure from 7 to 5

Goal #3 190 lbs (75 lbs lost) Can get OFF CPAP for good. Never needed it at this weight. This is also what I weighed at my 2nd wedding.

Goal #4 165 lbs (100 lbs lost) Also what I weighed b4 hysterectomy and after the birth of my 2 kids. I will have my health back 90% when I get here.

Goal #5 Final 130 to 135 lbs. (130 to 135 lbs lost) This is what I weighed at my best health. This was also after my first child was born so I know I can get there.

Measuring food... can a digital postal scale be used for a food scale?
Hi, I have a really good digital postal scale that I use for Ebay shipping. Can I use this for my food too or do I need a special food scale instead? I bought a cheapy plastic scale at Walmart and all it measured was ounces, which my postal scale will do also. If I subtract the container weight for measuring this should be just as good right? Please let me know.

Pedometer calculations
Measure an average step for you by walking and having someone mark where your foot lands. Then multiply this amount by the number of steps you took and convert to miles or feet. Everyone's stride is different so a pedometer's distance is different for everyone. I read on a site that 2000 steps is about 1 mile and that a good daily goal is to do 10,000 steps or 5 miles per day. Hope that helps. got it from www.thewalkingsite.com

What can you guys recommend for the best Dancing workout?
Hi, I used to love to dance and think this is a fun way for me to loose weight. I am looking for something fun but also effective. Is Zumba the best or are they all the same?
