My dieting history goes back to before high school. I weighed 150 pounds in 5th grade. 5' 7" tall at that time, this weight does not seem high to me at all now. But I felt like a "freak" and by the 7th grade had starved myself down to 122. And I pretty much starved myself through high school to maintain that weight. Started eating french fries in my senior year so did weigh 135 at graduation. Got pregnant, gained up to 195, but only lost 20 pounds with the birth of my beautiful girl. HORRIFYING! Starved myself back down to 140 or so, and the yo-yo began. Loved to overeat, hated to be fat.
Most recently I lost about 60 pounds with low carb-dieting about 10 years ago. Kept the weight off for a couple of years. Then I got remarried. Kept gaining and gaining over the last few years. Always on a diet. Found I could stick to anything (even Weight Watchers) for about a month, lose 10 pounds, and feel so deprived I would RUSH to the store to buy ingredients for a homemade pizza.
I eat for emotional reasons, for comfort, out of boredom. Not hunger. I get the eyeroll from my hubby when I attempt a new eating plan, but there must be something out there that will work for me.
