I am 41 years old and have had 6 children, my weight for the past 6 years has steadily increased and I topped the scales at 194 in february of 2009. I am at a high risk of diabetes and heart disease because of family history with no help from my ever increasing waist line.

I look forward to losing 30 pounds to be healthier not only for me but for my children and grandchildren.

Dieting alone
I struggle with the same issue so what I do is prepare a lower calorie version of the same meal for myself. that way im not making two entirely different dinners.I pull out chicken or whatever the protein is and before i add sauce and pasta and put mine over a salad
or on some meals i opt for low cal for everyone, enchilada night I make with fat free beans, low fat cheese and 100 calorie tortillas.

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I am trying to weight once a week, Thursday mornings, then stay off of it! like many others who have posted I become completely obssessed with the number and get discouraged quickly.
