I am a UNC graduate student trying to work around a crazy schedule and lose the 20lbs I gained in undergrad! I am primarily an herbivore... except when it comes to homemade fried chicken, delicious bbq and a really good steak... All the meat I probably should not eat :-P

I just started and I gained 2 pounds...
A sudden drop in calories like that can be tough, but stick with it because it does get easier! My RD says it is expected to have hunger pains, fatigue, ect. for about 2 weeks while your body adjusts. Once it learns to burn fat instead of bugging you to eat, you will begin to feel much better metabolically and physically. Good luck!

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I weigh every day in the morning (so I'm as light as I can be) - but I only record at the end of the week. that way I can tell myself, I have all week to make things right before I put a permanent mark on the wall.

Losing Weight and Motivation
I'm 22 years old, 5'3" and I have always struggled with my weight, but I gained about 30 lbs in college despite trying to be "healthy". I have been on an off different diets, but I feel the best when I eat a primarily lacto-ovo-pesce-vegetarian diet (with dairy, eggs, and fish).

I am now a grad student, and I decided to commit to a real life style change with a calorie limit and biking to school 5 days a week. I have am down 15 lbs from my 155 max weight this summer, but get a little down when I see the scale hipcups of a few pounds. And while I have a very loving support network- none of them have to watch what they eat, which make resisting temptation while eating with company very difficult.

I have 15 more lbs to lose to be at my goal of 125, and I know it is only going to get tougher... so I could really use a buddy to keep me going through getting the weight off AND keeping it off.
