This has been a long journey! I've been overweight-obese since I was 5 years old (I'm 41 now). Yes, I've been my ideal weight of 159 (my Senior year of High School) Thank you Nutri System! Too bad they don't teach you how to keep it off. No one told me that once I was skinny I couldn't eat what I wanted!! After having some serious health issues in 2001 I topped the scales at 255 lbs. Try as I might nothing would take it off. Finally out of desperation in August 2003 I tried a modified Atkins (the only carbs I ate were from vegetables). I managed to drop 52 lbs in 9 months. I was thrilled to be 203 lbs but still wanted to finish and get to my goal weight of 158 but seemed to be on a permanent plateau. In April of 2005, I quit my full time job to chase my dream of being a jewelry designer full time. Over the next 6 months, I put on 12 lbs. I held on to that 12 lbs until 2007 when it suddenly came off plus a few more (then I sat at 198 lbs). In June of 2009 I noticed how my lack of activity had made me feel really flabby and I was again at 203 lbs. We joined a gym and have been faithfully going 5 times a week. We spend an hour+ at the gym doing mostly cardio but I also do some weight machine work 3 days a week. I got myself down to 196 and then found fat secret on my phone! Being aware of the calories going in my mouth and the calories I'm burning has made ALL the difference!! I've lost 26lbs and I'm positive that I'll be able to lose the last 10.
