I’m a mid west girl grew up in Southwestern part of Ohio. I had an ok childhood for a girl who had self-image issues and little confidant. I didn’t have many friends but was friendly to everyone who took the time to speak with me. I became pregnant while in high school and had to drop out. I did get my GED within a year of dropping out. I actually did better on the GED test than what my last report card shown.

I bounced around several fast food jobs before finding a program that helped me get into the field of Accounting and employment. I have spent time at a bank, department store customer call center, and one of the federal government agencies. During this time I steady gained weight, I took care of everyone and everything but me.

Before I became pregnant, I was a size 9, full of energy, and moving all the time. After the baby came, I lost the energy and the small waist. I ate for comfort, energy and out of boredom. I would lose a few pounds the first few weeks of a new “diet” but would gain it back plus some. I got discouraged and stop trying :(.

After a long over-due breakup, I started to take care of myself again. I was fed up with how I felt inside my skin. Talk about feeling trapped! I took the time to care of me. I lost a good amount of weight and started dating again.

I met my husband in 1999 and we were married in 2003. I was smaller than I am now but I was still overweight back in '99. We got busy with our careers. We moved six times and to three states between 1999 and now. Now that we have settled down in one place, we started in getting the garden growing in the backyard, decorate the house as we like and work.

As time caught up with us, out waist lines grew better than the garden. I got more uncomfortable living in my skin and feared for his health.
Our Health is the reason we are on Fatserect.com now. With figures crossed, we will overcome the damage we done to ourselves.

Protein alternatives to hummus?
@Sabs09, the homemade hummus should last about a week in the fridge. If yogurt based should be eaten within three to four days.

Anyone using the Fitbit Flex or similar devices?
I have the Fitbit One and wear it 24/7. I like the tracking it does and every bit of information is in one place like water and sleep. It does sync with my tablet via bluetooth. Im even thinking getting the Flex just so I can skip changing the device from the sleep band to the clip daily. Ive improved my daily steps, water intake and have a better measurable way the quality of sleep Im getting.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
I've been on Metformin before and hated every minute. It helps you lose by having you run to the bathroom.

I'm in need of PCOS bubbies. Dealing with this gets lonely.

Figure out the difference in info
I have several recipes that I would love to include them into the cookbook to help making them easier to add to the food calander. When I tried to input the ingredients the nutrition info is off(wayoff)from the information that is with the receipe. The sources of the receipe are verified. Does anyone know if I should add the ingredients based on per serving to get the correct numbers?
