I'm a 34yr old female living in Toronto, ON. I work during the day as an Office Manager downtown, and in my offtime I do photography and craft stuff, go here to see more (www.darklydesigned.com)

I went to a Dietitian years ago to get on track with healthier eating when I found out I have high cholesterol and high blood pressure at only the age of 25. Don't get me wrong, I'm not obese, nor did I have really terrible eating habits. It seems I'm the lucky recipient of genetics, and they've been passed down to me... Happy Joy..

At the time I found out I had high cholesterol/blood pressure, I was able to lose weight by eating better portions and following the Canadian Food Guide and my Dietitian's Custom Instructions. Also I was walking every day which certainly made a difference as I don't think that changing my diet would have helped on it's own.

Since that time though plenty has happened in my life. My fiance and I broke up and as a result I have a different schedule, go to a different work, take a different route, and don't have a family to share these things with anymore. So now more than ever I need to get back up to speed with myself and how I take care of my body. Here's to a better lifestyle and feeling better about myself!

P90X Fitness/Nutrition Program
Funnily enough, there's infomercials for P90X on tv usually late at night.

Basically, it's a 90 day regime of fitness and nutrition plans that you follow. You're given 12 different videos that showcase a different workout in each; including kenpo, yoga, weight lifting, cardio etc... it's amazing!! It also works on something called muscle confusion, so that you never peak like you do when working out on the same routine. Usually you reach a plateau, but because the regime is always changing your body is always doing something new!

As for the nutrition guide, it has a set meal plan for every day or you can just follow the guide and make your own meals. I'm coming up to the end of month 1 and the diet was mainly protein and veggies. I will get to eat more carbs in month 2 and 3, but the firt month is the Fat Shredding phase to get your body ready for muscle toning/building in month 2/3.

So far I've lost 9pds and it's only the beginning of week 3. So I'm doing very well!!

P90X Fitness/Nutrition Program
I just started P90X on January 6 and have lost 4lbs already since the first Phase is all Fat Shredding (protein and veggies, not a lot of carbs)

I'm totally stoaked about this especially since I've seen results already! I know the weight loss will slow down after a little while, but hey, nothing like weight loss to keep you motivated!

Anyone else doing the P90X thing?? I'd really love to hear any tips, comments or results you've had.

I'm also looking to add people to my buddy list that are following the same kind of regime I am so I can build a support base to make it to the end..

Thanks all! Very Happy

Hi Everyone!
So, I've been on here for a bit, but only introducing myself now.

Question: I was seeing a dietitian and she had me logging a food journal based on food portions/servings I intake, not calories. Are there any diets on here that are similar?? Right now I'm having to create my own diet by just punching in as close to what my dietitian recommended... Is Weight Watchers like this?

Can't wait to start utilizing some of the features on this site. And I've only just now discovered I can have 'buddies' on here! Very Happy
