My Bio - Hmmmm, a bit about me... Who am I? I'm a wife, I'm a lover, I'm a mother - no wait... thats a song! But, I am a wife, a lover, a mother, and oh - I'm a bit fat. Ok, obese... Hate being defined by that last one! Time to do something about it... but what??? Oh, I know! ...but it was soooo much easier to do when I was younger, when the metabulism was higher and the hormones were more in balance! Sprinkle in a pack of kids and voila - I went from being a stick girl to a voluptuos woman... being sick for a long period of time didnt help much, either... between the illness and medications - OY! Anyhow, people don't care about that - they just care that your fat and so quick to point that out... you must binge on Twinkies! If only it were that easy! To be honest, I'm not too happy about it either... I always wanted bigger breasts, but I didn't want an ass and belly to match! Guess you really do have to be careful what you wish for! Now, I just want my old ass back... I don't like how I look or feel... so here I am! Motivate me... Ok, so I'm already motivated ... Momentum me! I sorely lack momentum! :-)

How do you change your weight from being public to private???
Hi
If you want to change your account settings, to set your privacy levels...
1. Go to your home page (double click the MY FATSECRET tab)
2. Look to the right of the screen, scroll down to the MY TOOLBOX area
3. Change settings here... look in MY ACCOUNTS for privacy settings... MY IMAGE to set your profile pic...MY SIGNATURE to change your signature, add a quote or the weight bar...MY DIET TO RESTART YOUR WEIGHT/DIET DATE... and so on... don't be afraid to explore!

I really hope that you will share with the members of the comp... or at least me. I have set the settings for our comp to private - so only members of our competition can post or read posts that are added to our comp pages.
Also, I am tracking seperately, since this is also my first comp - I do not see options for tracking success. As a result I created a couple of simple spreadsheets so that at Week 6 & 12, I can share inches lost and BMI loss... none of this will be used outside of this comp.

When I first started losing weight several months back, I was really embarassed to even have to say my weight... after losing 30 pounds - it no longer defines me. I know the fat is not forever. It may be todays number, but it wont be my tomorrow number... it also helps your buddies to be able to motivate you and your successes and failures can help motivate others. If you choose not to share your weight. I can not force you to, and will not bump you from the competition - but it does sort of kill the spirit of the competition if people dont share their weight, their struggles, their accomplishments. There is nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed of - we are all here for the same thing: to lose weight. To rally together. To support one another through this obstacle. I am obese, not just fat and - and I hate it. I am embarassed by how I look and feel - but I take ownership for it. That is one of the first steps in being able to break the cycle and get rid of it - you have to stop hiding behind it. IT does not define you! FAT is not who you are.
