I've been overweight my whole life. I'm finally tired of being fat and I'm going to do something about it. My blood pressure was borderline high and diabetes runs in my family. I'd rather be active and do all of the fun things in life instead of sitting in front of the TV.

What are you all eating?!
I think that a lot of this depends on what you currently weigh. Your body needs about 10 calories per pound to maintain your weight. So for example, if you currently weigh 250 pounds you need 2,500 calories per day to stay even. Likewise, if you weigh 115 pounds you only need 1,150 calories to maintain your weight.

Remember that 1 pound is about 3500 calories. So when I currently weigh 269 pounds (like this morning) and I only eat 1200 calories per day I'll loose a pound about every 3 days. That's a much faster weight weight loss than a 120 pound woman who cuts back to 1000 calories per day. Her loss would be about 1 pound every 17.5 days.
