I was born thin...which does not make for a cute baby. And as far as I know, that is the only time in our lives when being thin does not make us more attractive. Luckily, other babies aren't so judgmental.

Teenagers stay active and I stayed thin until I was about 20 years old and found myself in a rocky marriage- partly because I married at age 18 and just wasn't ready. I shot up to 190 and within another two years got divorced. Then the weight came off in time for our court date and I showed up weighing 115 pounds and looking cute. Tried my best to give him something to regret.

The 90's were good to me for the most part. While I was dating, the weight stayed off well although I would sort of yo-yo as in go from 135 to 165 then make some slight changes and lose weight without too much effort.

In my mid-30's, about the time I got married again, I started slowly gaining weight and the more I gained, the faster it seemed to come on. My current husband is my high school sweetheart- and he is a big man. He did not mind the weight- but I started developing high blood pressure and pre-diabetes. My peak weight was 257 and I did not carry it well at all. I'm losing this weight for me- so that I will like the way that I look, and also hopefully have better health.

So glad to have the board for the support and to track progress. There are a lot of good folks here going through the same things- and I'm glad to be here to support you too.
