Until college, I was always a size 6, which was perfect for my small 5'3" frame. I never gave a thought to food, other than to eat whatever I felt like. Then came the "college fifteen", and upon graduation, the dreaded 70 lbs of "baby fat" with the pregnancy of my son. Over the years, I've tried every diet out there, and even though I lost some weight on them, sticking TO them was near impossible. I'd always give up loooong before reaching my goal. Then, a few years ago, we discovered my son had a yeast overgrowth in his intestines from years of antibiotics for ear infections. His doctor gave me a choice of more meds (which got him in the situation to begin with), or a diet change. We chose the diet, and I promised to go on it with him. A totally unexpected suprise was that the pounds just started melting off of me! Without even dieting for weight loss, I went back down to a size 6!! After my son was healed of the overgrowth, we started incorporating healthy grains back into our diets. Before I knew it, I was making horrible eating choices again, and found myself back to a size 16. After researching low carb diets, (LOVED Johnny Bowden's Living Low Carb)I discovered Atkins was very, very similar to the diet that I had lost all of the weight on before, without being as restrictive. So I decided to give Atkins a try! So far, so good!

ugh, water
I feel pretty silly now! Big misunderstanding! You meant half your body weight, but in OUNCES, and hear I'm all worried you're literally drinking half your body weight(as in pounds)! I was so worried about you drowning! Thank goodness that wasn't the case! =)

ugh, water
Half your body weight?? I've never heard that before. Drinking TOO much water can actually cause you to drown! The general rule of thumb is drink eight 8oz glasses minimum, and then another 8oz glass for each 25 lbs you are over weight.

Ab exercises...?
Literally Lol'd! I know the EXACT part you were talking about that reminded you of Dirty Dancing! Hee hee. Glad to hear it's on you tube, too, because that's free! =)

Ab exercises...?
Lol! I wonder if I can change my username, as I didn't get fit by 6/9/11! Still working away at it!

I hope you like the workout. It's only 10 minutes and for someone else who hates crunches on the floor, it's been a lifesaver for me!

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
Daily. But I average the previous 3 days to get a better idea with water weight fluctuation. I take the measurements more seriously and record those once a week.
