So I have been sort of overweight for the past 5 years. The last I was thin thin was when I was 14 years old. I wish to lose weight in the hopes of feeling good about myself :). I never ever took health and nutrition extremely seriously. When I saw people eating brown bread instead of white or grilling their fish instead of having it battered or having salad instead of fries or bringing fruits and celery as a snack I was like why????? I never really drank fizzy drinks growing up nor was I a choc-holic but my killer was chips and fried foods. My mum loves her salt and oil and unfortunately it got passed down to me. About 4 years ago I started exploring desserts, chocolates and fizzy drinks and that led to a drastic weight increase of 9 kg. I was sad and caught in a rut :(...I blocked out my appearance and hated the fitting room (the lighting is so good it leaves nothing to the imagination). When people called me fat I sneared them and became defensive. Recently my aunts went on a 13 day metabolic diet where you eat about 600 - 700 calories a day - I thought they were crazy and they tried to convince me and I was like huh-uh. When I visited my aunts again I was like omg - the results were immediately noticible and that convinced me to give it a shot. When I looked at the diet properly I swallowed hard. I realised I wasn't convinced and did more research. I am a food lover and in the past my weight losses were attributed to exercise instead of portion control. After an hour or two (three max) of fighting with myself I decided I will follow it through - I mean it was only for 13 days. I started end of April 2014 and finished early May. It was trully a battle but I came out 4.5 kg's lighter. I finally understand the meaning of a balnced diet...I have my off days but who doesn't - I needed that diet to kick me in the right direction and now that the momentum is going, I really don't wana lose it. Thinking lifestyle thinking identity thinking performance not appearance.

Without fatsecret I guarentee I would not have been 5 kg away from my goal weight....a BIG thanks to all my buddies!!! Thanks for all the support whilst I was struggling and the pats on my back when I was doing a good job....It has been an awesome journey, I have enjoyed the transformation and compliments...Looking back I laugh at the days I binge ate - figuring out how the hell I am gna get back on track whilst munching on Ice Cream!!!Hahaha....the detox phases, the patient phases...the pushing myself phases....the self control phases - sometimes easy sometimes awful (when your mouth waters as you watch others enjoy a marvilous feast - and you just snap and say what the hack just for today ;p)...The moods and dissapointments hahaha - not the best of feelings but when you overcome it, you can most certainly laugh at it...you can be proud of yourself...something inside...that ounce of strength pushed you forward! Oh boy what a journey!!!thanks for being a part of it Smile...I think the most important thing I learnt is don't be too serious and hard on yourself...make it fun...make it something you can see yourself doing everyday for the rest of your life...if you don't feel this way...change direction - even if it is as simple as eating an apple, having one extra glass of water and doing 10 min of exercise everyday (not changing anything else) - if you feel that's a commitment you can sustain then that's what you should be doing...I know in the past I was incredibly unrealistic, like most of us - I wanted instant results and would push myself really hard for a short period of time and what used to happen? I would gain like 3 - 5 kg afterwards...I had to make a very hard yet important decision, I have decided to be the tortoise and not the hare (no one wants to be the tortoise!!!)...it takes a while to start loving your body - to compliment it, to nourish it with positivity and gratitude - sometimes we are so caught up in what our body isn't doing for us that we forget how much it actually does for us...it took me a while to accept my body for what it is...when I feel my heart beat, the issues I have with my cellulite and stretch marks seem to fade away...thanks to my fatsecret buddies, I own every imperfection on my body!!!!hehehehe have a great day all!!!
